As specific internship opportunities become available, INL recruiters will use this information to notify students about applicable opportunities through the 2024/2025 intern season. To be considered for a project, an official application must be submitted directly to an internship job posting. INL offers paid internship opportunities available in a wide range of STEM and other fields for both undergraduate and graduate students. These internships will help students collaborate with experienced scientists and engineers to develop innovative solutions for meaningful, real-world projects. Our internships are structured on an "80x20" model.
80% of time is spent working on projects and applying what you have learned in the classroom to solve real work-related challenges.
20% of time is spent participating in enrichment & professional development activities (workshops, networking, etc.)
INL hires interns year-round and on an as needed basis. Below is an approximate timeline for live postings and offers. Postings are typically open for 14 days, so we recommend students check our job board weekly for new openings.

Minimum Requirements For An Internship:
- Complete an application
- Have the ability to pass a background check
- Enrolled full time student status at an accredited college or university (undergraduate, graduate, PhD)
- Possess a minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average
- Possess authorization to work in the U.S.
INL Internships Overview:

INL internships include a nationally competitive wage. Eligible interns are provided holiday pay, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and the selected candidates will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
